we want to keep things pretty simple! we ask that you keep in mind we are a slice of life community that allows people a little more wiggle room. in denver and the entire state of colorado - everyone co-exists peacefully living their day to day lives like anyone would in an sol community. our fp will function the same as an sol community and interactions should as well. this flexibility gives people options to do something different with their character's backgrounds, personalities, etc. we also feel that by keeping things open without too many rules, it leaves room for characters to learn more about each other, have different kinds of conversations and different interactions from the usual sol way. that's all. if you're not into writing characters with abilities that's fine and you can and should bring a normal human as they will be valued here just as much.
community rulessetting up is very easy. we know what it's like to put a lot of thought and time into a character, join somewhere and have it die leaving you with nowhere to go. your set up guidelines are to use an ic/ooc journal (Without underscores/numbers/excessive letters). put up an in character post and an out of character post and make sure they're both backdated. put up basic character info in your ooc post: character name, age, occupation, hometown and some sort of idea as to what they are - human or otherwise. if they have special abilities please list out what they have (please read the guidelines below).
activity you must post two times a month. you can post anything you want: narratives, interactive posts, mixed media, blog posts, playlists, etc. we just ask that you're very active commenting other people's posts and contributing to the community. tinder/dating app posts do not count as an update.
removals occur when you fail to meet the update requirements. we will also remove anyone with a flist out of date 7 - 10 days. any kind of bullying, shit talking or ooc harassment will also end in your removal.
rejections if you were rejected it is because we feel you were not a good fit for this community. we do not answer inquiries about rejections.
wire/etc we are an app free community. use customs and the fp to communicate and interact with other members. if you are caught using wire or another off-site app your character will be removed from the community with no warning or question. please respect this rule.
character rules & restrictions - it is only common sense that there should be some restrictions at this community. since we are a sol community, we'd like for characters that aren't human or ones that have abilities to be more subtle. please read through the below restrictive guidelines before creating a character and applying.
limitations
special abilities if you'd like to give your character the abilities that some comic/fictional characters have that is fine however you need to limit yourself to 2-3 and they should all go together well. mind control/mind reading are not allowed. please be reasonable when choosing powers as your characters should not be all powerful and all knowing. they should not have the abilities to do anything and everything, or ones that magically make them smarter than everyone in the room.
magic please apply the same common sense from the above limitations with magic. witches and wizards are more than welcome and we suggest you base your character's abilities off of a universe existing in fiction. no witch or wizard can be all powerful or all knowing. please keep it somewhat reasonable and subtle.
creatures if you decide to bring a creature of some kind we ask that you stick to one. no vamp/werewolf hybrids or mermaid witches. again, we ask that you keep it pretty subtle! you can base your character on any lore that you'd like. remember, everyone co-exists and there's no rule that says every vampire, werewolf, alien has to be the same. you can also make up your own kind of lore if you'd like but again we ask that your characters be subtle and not be overly saturated with abilities and special attributes.
evil, etc we understand the impulse to play dark characters is there, but please refer to one of the other supernatural communities for that. again, we are an sol community first and foremost. this means your characters are living a slice of life type of life with these attributes if you want to give them. there should be no murder, assault, or anything like that here even with npcs. dark things can have happened in their past, but nothing should happen in the community like this. vampires should get blood ethically, and in other situations with other types of characters you should do the same. please do not cross lines that would never be acceptable in a sol community. we are sorry if you feel like this limits you too much but again, we feel there's a lot of other options out there that those characters would fit!
banned types of characters:
superheroes and villains - yes your character can have the abilities that these types of fictional characters have but they can't be known as superheroes like captain america or villains like thanos. can they use their powers to help people? yes! they can be vigilantes! can they use them in unethical and unsavory ways too? yes. just nothing comic booky.
harry potter anything jkr has written or created is banned for obvious reasons, this means no witches/wizards from the magical world of harry potter.
faux celeb no celebrities that are well known are allowed. if you'd like to take minor claims from authors, youtube/tiktok or say your character was a child actor that is fine with us but well known celebs in the real world won't fit here.
gods/goddesses we feel these types of characters are too powerful and mythical to allow here. they are also very specific in a way that would require claims for ones with specific backgrounds that we don't have room for and feel there are plenty of communities already that can accomodate them.
